Invoking entities is inspired by spiritualism, teachings of Vajrayana Buddhism and shamanism which connects humankind to nature and all creations.

Invoking Entities Bhutanese Art

The Figures wear costumes inspired by traditional Buddhist mask dance costumes, the right colours and bold patterns represent psychedelic experiences through visualization and meditation. The concept is humans connecting with ancient entities which exist beyond the physical realm. It is important to connect with these sacred entities in order to know our true, enlightened nature which finds expression in these works.

The artists dedicated this exhibition to Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.

Most of the portraits are fictional characters reflecting a combination of realism with contemporary, freestyle patterns rooted from graffiti, illustrations, fashion designs and traditional Japenese woodblock prints.

The inaugration day of Invoking entities art exhibition saw an evening of eminent personalities Major General V. Namgyel (Ambassador of Bhutan), Harinder Siddhu (Austrailan High Commision), Dorji Nidup (Second Secretary, Royal Bhutanese Embassy) Senior Journalist Sushil Vakil (Samachar Post) and other highly esteemed dignitaries and personalities warming up to the enriching Bhutanese art.
