6th January, New Delhi: Liza Varma and Jainee Rajni Sharma hosted a preview of “Au-gust Weaves” along with a grand fashion nite curated by Dimple Ghosh at Ciclo Bar and cafe in leisure valley, sector 29, Gurugram.

In a short press briefing, before the grand fashion nite, Former Miss India, Liza Varma praised the talent and hard work of the producers, curators and artists for working towards establishing higher standards and generating more value to create more impactful shows.

Adding further to the discourse, she highlighted the challenges concerning the Indian fashion designers to be constantly on par with the global brands. She said, “Indian designers are going abroad and working there as an apprentice, only to design Jaipur Fabrics which is a great loss of skill and resources for the country.” Emphasising on Make In India, she urged designers to not be swayed away by easy options but to be bold in their decisions.

August Weaves by Jainee

The “August weaves” collection by Jainee Rajni Sharma received rave appreciation from the audience. The Bridal wear collection is resplendent with Indian Royalty and opulence. The 2017 winter collection, august weaves designed for the festive season turns to a colour palette of creamy, golden hues with a dash of red; completed by ivory tones enhanced and adorned via glass beadwork with a modern outlook on Dabka embroidery.

Craftsmanship united with zesty contemporary outlook is illustrated with versatile attires made of silk brocade, organza, khadi and textured lycra cotton. A modernisation of art is further depicted through the innovative use of thread embroidery; inspired by old carpet making style. Circular, linear, progression in silhouettes provides a backdrop for the collection which aims at representing a prevailing woman’s worldly and sensitive approach to her surroundings.

The show was made successful by the impressive work from the management of Connecting Dotts by Dimple Ghosh. Curating a variety of high-end fashion and business shows and riding high on success, Fab Info Media caught up with Dimple Ghosh.

On being asked about her journey from an actor to a marketing honcho. She attributed her success to the learning curve of working with right people, at right time and being in a right place. She said “It explains the idea behind my company ConnectingDotts. It’s about being there in the moment and doing what’s best for you.”

The evening saw prominent faces from business circuits, social gallery and media persons of the National Capital Region. The show went on till wee hours saw guests tapping their feet on scintillating music, along with savouring scrumptious Canapes and exotic cocktails.
