New Delhi 13th February 2018. Natya Tarangini organised 2nd edition of ‘Maha Shivaratri’ Festival on Tuesday at ‘Raja Radha Rangmanch’ in Saket. This is an Annual Festival organised on “Maha Shivaratri” to pay an Ode of Lord Shiva – the creator of Dance with an intention to bring all the artists under one roof to worship Lord Shiva through their Music and Dance.
This year the artists who graced the evening with their soulful performances paying tribute to Lord Shiva were Malini Awasthi, renowned Bhojpuri folk singer presented Girja Pranami Thumri, O.S. Arun, Carnatic Vocalist – presented his production in Carnatic Music in Praise of Lord Shiva, Nalini & Kamalini presented Mahadev Stuti in traditional Dhrupad style: Parshwanath S. Upadhye, eminent Bharathanatyam Dancer portrayed Shiva Putra Kautvam in Mysore style , Bhavana Reddy, the aspiring Kuchipudi Dancer presented a mesmerising performance “ Shivam” where she displayed various facets of Lord Shiva, F. Wasifuddin Dagar – From Shant to Tandava – spanning the contrastive aspects of Shiva’s manifestations.
The event was graced by Amar Singh, Alka Raghuvanshi, Sunil Arora – Election Commissioner on India, Radhika Anand, Ruchika Makhni, Deepali Narula, IT Commissioner Sangeeta Gupta, Jayant Advani, Promila Bahri and Ex Mayor- Arti Mehra to name a few.
On the occasion of Mahashivratri festival, the academy also felicitated the veteran maestros for their lifetime contribution and achievement in the field of art and culture –
Dr Uma Sharma – Classical Dancer, Smt. Yamini Krishnamurthy – Kuchipudi Dancer, Sh. Gurcharan Singh Channi – Theatre Artist.
