New Delhi, A delegation of newspaper editors met Mr Rajvardhan Rathore, Hon’ble Minister of I& B in his office at Shastri Bhavan here today to discuss the problems faced by small and medium newspapers published in India.
The Hon’ble Minister gave a patient hearing to all the members of the delegation and issued on the spot orders to Ms Isthar Kar, Director General, DAVP and Mr RC Joshi Director in presence of the delegation. The Hon’ble minister has ordered that the Quota of small and medium be increased from 10 to 15 percent and advertisements be regularly released on a rotational basis, payments are cleared within two months, counters for receiving newspaper copies be increased and advisory of papers be uploaded within seven days. It is about the future of print media. If the crumbling state of affairs are not taken into consideration then it would be difficult for the press society to function fair and square.
The delegation included Sushil Vakil, editor Samachar Post, Shrikant Bhatia, editor Samvad Sindhi, SM Asif, editor In-dinoon, Desraj Muztar, editor Hamara Maqsad, Rahul Dev Sharma, editor Amar Sahara, Haleem Khan, Dawat and Mr KP Malik.
