A Photo book – ‘A Journey of Change’ – MIRA Saving Lives in Afghanistan:
A Journey of Change is a photo book about the journey of ZMQ team in facing ground challenges, collaborating with local partners, conducting trainings in risk prone areas, implementing the program under the socio-cultural barriers nevertheless achieving success in reducing the maternal and child health indicators in the program area. ZMQ is now proposing to scale the MIRA Program in Afghanistan under the SEHAT program of Ministry of Public Health Afghanistan.
2. A Talking toy ‘AFIA MIRA Doll’ – an IoT based doll for hard-to-reach Pregnant Women:
AFIA MIRA Doll is an IoT based (Internet of Things) based talking doll which provides audio information to pregnant women in local languages (Dari and Pashto) on a daily basis about her state of pregnancy – what all the pregnant woman should do in terms of dietary information, medication, tests, precautions, do and dons. AFIA MIRA Doll is an extension of ZMQ’s MIRA program in Afghanistan. This Doll is especially developed for ‘hard-to-reach’ communities; who neither have mobile phones nor have any access to mobile networks especially for communities living in mountainous region with limited access to roads, moreover in the winters due to snowfall, particularly women with very limited access to timely healthcare. The doll also gives a complete immunization schedule of the child which is updated through a token issued by the Public Health Center at the time vaccination. Currently the cost of the doll is Rs. 650 but we plan to bring it down to Rs. 250.
